GF27.51-D-5105H Multidisk Brake Component Description
- TRANSMISSION 722.6
9 Externally toothed plate
10 Internally toothed plate
21 Multidisk brake B1
22 Multidisk brake B2
23 Multidisk brake B3
Location
With the planetary gear sets, 3 multidisk brakes are located as multidisk brake B1, multidisk brake B3 and multidisk brake B2 in the transmission housing.
Task
For transmitting the drive torque the multidisk brake supports the ring gear, sun gear or planet carrier of a planetary gear set against the transmission housing.
Design
A multidisk brake consists of internally toothed plates on an internal plate carrier and externally toothed plates on an external plate carrier which is rigidly connected to the transmission housing.

29/1 Front sun gear
29/2 Front planetary gear
30/1 Center sun gear
30/2 Center planetary gear
30/4 Center internal gear
31/3 Rear planet carrier
Function
If at the multidisk brake oil pressure is applied to B1 the piston B1, then this presses the internally and externally toothed plates B1 of the clutch pack together. The front sun gear on the housing is held via the internal plate carrier B1. The front planetary gears roll on the front sun gear.
If the multidisk brake B2 is engaged via the piston B2, then this presses the clutch pack together. The center sun gear is held on the housing via the internal plate carrier B2. The center planetary gears roll on the center sun gear.
If the multidisk brake is engaged B3 via the piston B3, then the rear planet carrier and center ring gear are held. A reversal of the direction of rotation takes place when the multidisk brake is shifted B3.
