GF27.19-D-5160HA Solenoid Valve, Component Description
- TRANSMISSION 722.6

Upshift/downshift solenoid valve

2a Valve body of shift plate
2c Leaf spring

Y3/6 Electrical control unit
Y3/6y3 1-2 and 4-5 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y4 3-4 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y5 2-3 shift solenoid valve

Location

The shift solenoid valve is located on the supporting body of the electric control unit and in each case is pressed against the shift plate valve body by means of a leaf spring.

Task

The shift solenoid valves introduce the sequence of upshifts and downshifts in the shift plate.

Y3/6y3 1-2 and 4-5 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y4 3-4 shift solenoid valve
Y3/6y5 2-3 shift solenoid valve

Design

In each case the shift solenoid valves are sealed towards the shift plate valve body by 2 O-rings.

The contact springs on the shift solenoid valves grip into a slot in the conductor tracks. The spring force of the contact springs means that reliable contacting is guaranteed.

Function

If a shift solenoid valve is actuated via the ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3), it opens and leads the shift valve pressure to the assigned command valve. The respective shift solenoid valve remains actuated and thus open until the shift operation is complete. The shift valve pressure to the command valve is reduced to zero as soon as the respective shift solenoid valve is switched de-energized.
