N15/5 EWM control unit

The selector lever can be moved into 6 different positions. The selector lever positions have the following meanings:
^ P Park lock and start position
^ R Reverse gear
^ N Neutral and start position
No power flow takes place, the vehicle can move freely
^ D All 5 forward gears are available
^ + Touch
Upshift by one shift range in each case
Press and hold
Change from current shift range directly to "D"
^ - Touch
Downshift by one shift range in each case, the selected gear is only actuated at the permissible speed
Press and hold
The transmission changes into a gear, from which the vehicle can be favorably accelerated or decelerated (shift range display in instrument cluster (A1))

If the shift range is limited, the transmission shifts up gears when the engine speed is close to the engine breakaway speed.
