Complaint:
- Engine does not start at low outside temperatures (below - 15 Celsius).
- Engine running faults during driving operation.
- Engine diagnosis warning lamp lights up.

Note:
Fault code "Rail pressure too low" is stored in engine control unit.

Cause:
At low outside temperatures, the fluidity of the diesel fuel can be impaired due to separation of paraffin crystals (fuel gelling). This can cause pumping difficulty due to clogging of the filter and/or fuel lines.
If the complaint is no longer present after the fuel system/vehicle warms up, this is an indication that fuel gelling is occurring.

Remedy:
Mix approved flow improver into diesel fuel.
The Specifications for Operating Fluids on the topic of "Winter operation with diesel fuels" must always be observed!
