Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

AZ54.61-D-0002-01A Retrofit Vehicle Speed Sensor












1 Clean mounting of vehicle speed sensor (B6/12) in transmission housing.
2 Insert vehicle speed sensor (B6/12) with O-ring in the mounting and tighten,
3 Route the pick-up line (1) over the transmission to the left and on into the engine compartment.
4 Bind the pick-up line (1) in the area of the transmission to existing lines and wiring looms.
Pay attention to stress-free and chafe-free line routing, attach chafe protection if necessary.

5 Lower vehicle







6 Route the pick-up line (1) in the engine compartment to the left to the cable duct of the front end dash support (2).
7 Open the cable duct of the front end dash support (2) and guide the pick-up line (1) into the vehicle interior.
8 Bind the pick-up line (1) in the engine compartment to existing lines and wiring looms.
Pay attention to stress-free and chafe-free line routing, attach chafe protection if necessary.

9 Close the cable duct of the front end-dash support (2) again.







10 Connect the sensor adapter line (3) to the 4-pin violet plug (4) on the pick-up line.
11 Route the sensor adapter line (3) with the 8-pin yellow plug (5) under the dashboard to the installation opening of the tachograph below the control and operating unit for climate control.
