GF40.15-D-2004HL Detecting Rapid Pressure Loss, Function
Sudden pressure loss
Driving safety is no longer guaranteed if there is a rapid pressure loss. The driver is requested to stop the vehicle and to check the condition of the tires. It is the driver's responsibility to decide whether to continue the journey at low speed as far as the nearest workshop or whether an on-the-spot repair is necessary (use of TIREFIT). Rapid pressure loss is detected if a pressure loss of greater than or equal to 0.2 bar is detected within 60 s.
During a journey, the driver is shown a warning message in the display (A1p1) of the instrument cluster (A1) and the tire pressure monitor indicator lamp (A1e29) indicates that a tire is defective. The warning message is displayed permanently as long as circuit 15 is ON.
When circuit 15 is set to ON again, the warning lamp is immediately actuated and the warning message is given again after the vehicle has been driven for approx. 5 minutes.
