Operation of display in instrument cluster (A1)
The displays in the instrument cluster display and the settings in the control system can be controlled via the buttons on the MFL. The standard display always appears when the instrument cluster is activated. The individual menus can be displayed by pressing the system selection button (S111s3) and the submenus can be displayed by pressing the scroll forward/back button (S111s1).
A submenu is selected using the + and - button (S110s1) on the MFL. The scroll forward/back button is used to select a function within a submenu. The actual settings are made using the + and - button on the MFL.
In addition, a number of functions can be operated using the following buttons:
- Engine oil level button
- Reset button
- Plus button
- Minus button
The display only shows systems and functions available in the particular vehicle. If a system is not present, it is "skipped" when the system selection button is pressed.
Confirm malfunction and warning messages
These messages are divided into 3 categories according to their priority. Category 2 and 3 messages shown in the display can be acknowledged by pressing the reset button in the instrument cluster and also using the system selection button or scroll forward/back button. Messages of category 1 (highest priority) cannot be acknowledged. Indicator or warning lamps that light up at the same time cannot be acknowledged.
Certain fault and warning messages are also accompanied by a chime.
