The trip computer (RRE) allows the travel time to be displayed. The function is similar to that of a stopwatch.
The display is active as from position 2 (circuit 15 ON) of the transmitter key when the TRIP menu item is called up.

After the "Trip computer" menu has been activated using the system selection button (S111s3) on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL), the travel time "Since reset" is shown on the multifunction display of the instrument cluster (A1) by pressing the scroll forward/back button (S111s1) on the MFL.
Since the travel time is only measured with "circuit 15 ON", the instrument cluster requires information about the position of the transmitter key in the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73). This information is placed on the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior compartment) (CAN-B) by the EIS [EZS] control unit and received by the instrument cluster. The travel time is calculated in the instrument cluster.

If the display of travel time or travel distance exceeds the maximum display value, the travel time and travel distance is reset automatically. This preserves the relationship between travel time and mileage. The travel time and travel distance are reset when the travel time reaches 999 hours or the travel distance reaches 9999 km.
