GF54.35-D-4010H Signaling Horn Component Description

GF54.35-D-4010H Signaling Horn Component Description

Shown except code (LG1) Xenon headlamp
H1 Audible warning device

Location
For vehicles except code (LG1) Xenon headlamp the signaling horn is located below the left lamp unit (E1) behind the bumper.
For vehicles with code (LG1) Xenon headlamp the signaling horn is located below the left XENON lamp unit (E1/6) behind the bumper.

Task
The signaling horn is actuated by the SAM control unit (N10) over the Signaling horn relay (K40/9k1), it emits the acoustic signals when the signaling horn button (S110s5) or signaling horn button (S111s5) is actuated on the steering wheel's impact absorber or with the anti-theft alarm system [EDW] alarm, with code (FZ5) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]) or with code (FZ4) Breaking and entering/ vehicle theft alarm with interior protection and tow-away protection.

Design
The signaling horn consists of a housing with integrated diaphragm and an integrated armature. The diaphragm has a voltage applied to it over 2 connections whereupon it starts to oscillate thus generating a sound.

Function
When the signaling horn button or the signaling horn button on the steering wheel's impact absorber is pressed, the signaling horn is operated as long as the button is pressed.
In the event of an anti-theft alarm system alarm, the signaling horn is temporarily intermittently operated (2 Hz ±0.2 Hz) for a duration of 0 to 60 s (parameterizable from 0 to 60 s in 5-s increments).
