- with CODE (JW0) Backup warning system

Illustrated on model 906.2
H3/4 Backup warning horn

Location
The backup warning horn is fixed to the center of the last crossmember of the vehicle frame.

Task
With "Tml. 15 ON" and reverse gear engaged (with transmission 711.6) or selector lever position "R" engaged (with transmission 722.6), the backup warning horn is supplied with voltage at the same time as the left backup lamp (E3/6e3) and right backup lamp (E4/6e3) and generates an intermittent acoustic signal (audible beep).

The volume of the acoustic signal produced during activation of the backup warning system is fixed. The volume can be reduced by engaging reverse gear (with transmission 711.6) or selector lever position "R" (with transmission 722.6) twice in quick succession e.g. for quiet nighttime operation. This must be repeated every time.
