GF54.35-D-0003H Backup Warning System Function
- with CODE (JW0) Backup warning system
The backup warning system supports the driver by warning pedestrians about a reversing vehicle, thus reducing the risk of endangering pedestrians.
The backup warning system is activated as soon as the driver engages reverse gear (with transmission 711.6) or selector lever position "R" (with transmission 722.6) with "Tml. 15 ON".
The system produces an acoustic signal (audible beep), which is generated intermittently by the backup warning horn (H3/4).
The volume of the acoustic signal can be reduced (e.g. for quiet nighttime operation) by engaging reverse gear (with transmission 711.6) or selector lever position "R" (with transmission 722.6) twice in quick succession.
