GF54.30-D-3021H Display Engine Speed, Function

General
The tachometer (A1p5) is in the instrument cluster (A1) and is an analog indicator. The display is driven by a stepper motor.
Networking:
- The rotational speed is detected by the crankshaft sensor (B70).
- The signals from the crankshaft sensor are read in by the CDI control unit (N3/20), the CDI control unit (N3/21) or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/23) and placed on the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C).
- The instrument cluster receives these signals and actuates the stepper motor of the tachometer accordingly.

If the values from CAN-C are implausible or too large, the pointer of the tachometer moves to the beginning of the scale. If no values are provided by CAN-C, the pointer of the tachometer again moves to the beginning of the scale. In each case, a fault message is also stored in the fault memory.
