MODEL 906.611 /613 /631 /633 /635 /637 /653 /655 /657 /711 /713 /731 /733 /735
- with CODE (HZ5) 10 kW warm water auxiliary heater with timer
- with CODE (JK3) High-end instrument cluster with speedometer in km
- Stationary heater (STH)
The function requirement is that the fill level of the fuel tank is > 16 l. After adjusting and activating one of the 3 switch-on times in the instrument cluster (A1) using the + and - button (S110s1), system selection button (S111s3), and scroll forward/back button (S111s1) integrated in the multifunction steering wheel (MFL), the stationary heater (STH) operation of the stationary heater unit is activated with status "circuit 15 OFF" and "circuit 61 OFF" or with status "circuit 15 ON" and "circuit 61 OFF" via the warm water auxiliary heating control unit (N33/3).
With status "circuit 15 ON" and "circuit 61 ON", heater booster (HB) operation of the stationary heater unit is activated via the warm water auxiliary heater control unit. The instrument cluster transmits the message "VWZ_STH_MFL (timer status)" and the message "STHL_EIN_KOMBI (STH/ventilation On)" via the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B). The warm water auxiliary heating control unit reads in the messages and then actuates the following components needed for the particular heater operation of the stationary heater unit:
- Blower motor (N33/3m1) of the STH combustion air blower, for combustion air supply
- Glow pin (N33/3r1), for preheating the combustor with downpipe and for ignition of the fuel
- Metering pump (M46/1), to supply the fuel
- Circulation pump (M13/4), to circulate the coolant
In addition, the warm water auxiliary heating control unit places the message "STH_EIN (STH switched on)" or the message "STH_ZHZ_EIN (heater booster function is activated)" on the CAN-B and permanently actuates the red or yellow light emitting diode (LED) integrated in the warm water stationary heater switch (S46/11) directly via one discrete line each.
The red LED is actuated if the particular heater operation of the stationary heater unit was activated.
The yellow LED is actuated, if the switch-on times in the instrument cluster were set and activated, but the STH heater operation of the stationary heater unit has not yet been activated.
New USA exhaust emission legislation as of 01/2010:
Operation of the stationary heater is only possible with outside temperatures < 4 °C (39.2 °F).
