AH83.70-N-0001-06A Notes On Installation Of Air Heaters
All models with Eberspcher/Webasto air heaters
Notes on direct installation of air heater
- Before installing the air heater (1), make sure the flange gasket (2) is properly installed on the connecting flange. The raised outer edge of the gasket must contact the flange on the air heater.
- When retrofitting the air heater, select an installation location where the contact surface for the flange gasket on the cab or vehicle floor is as flat and level as possible. If necessary, rework the contact surface using a suitable tool.
- The flange gasket can compensate for surface irregularities of up to 1 mm.
The flange gasket must always be replaced before reinstalling the air heater after repair work.
Notes on indirect installation of an air heater
When mounting the air heater on a bearing bracket, the mounting surface of the bracket contacting the cab or vehicle floor must also sealed with a gasket.
- As in the case of direct installation, make sure the flange gasket is properly located on the bracket connecting flange before installing the air heater on a bearing bracket.
- The flexible gasket (sealing profile) must be evenly positioned in the groove (arrow) on the bearing bracket. When positioning the bracket on the cab or vehicle floor, make sure that the gasket does not slip out of position.
- When retrofitting the bearing bracket, make sure to drill the mounting holes in locations that will ensure that the bracket has full and even contact to the cab or vehicle floor over the entire sealing surface.
The bearing bracket gasket must always be replaced after repair work in which the air heater was removed along with the bracket. The flange gasket must also be replaced after the air heater was removed from the bracket.
