SM49.10-D-0009-01A Install Bracket For Exhaust End Pipe








1 Drill holes with 6.2mm diameter in both brackets (1,2).

Deburr holes and prime bracket with zinc dust paint.





2 Place bracket (1) against right longitudinal frame member at rear and mark holes of bracket (1).

Use bracket (1) with two threaded pins. The bracket must contact the right longitudinal frame member at the rear and the distance (A) from the crossmember to the bracket (1) must be 177 mm. The distance (B) from the vehicle floor to the bracket (1) must be 34 mm.

3 Drill holes at marked points with 6.2mm diameter.
4 Remove underfloor protection in area where bracket is being installed on longitudinal frame member.
5 Deburr holes and prime bracket with zinc dust paint.
6 Rivet bracket (1) to longitudinal frame member with two rivets





7 Place bracket (2) against frame crossmember and mark holes of bracket (2).

Use bracket (2) with two threaded pins. The bracket must contact the frame crossmember and the distance (C) from the longitudinal member to the bracket (2) must be 177 mm. The distance (D) from the vehicle floor to the bracket (2) must be 20 mm.

8 Drill holes at marked points with 6.2mm diameter.
9 Remove underfloor protection in area where bracket is being installed on longitudinal frame member.
10 Deburr holes and prime bracket with zinc dust paint.
11 Rivet bracket (3) to frame crossmember with two rivets.
12 Prime repair area on brackets (1,2) with zinc dust paint.

Use only paint and paint system approved by Daimler AG.

13 Apply seam seal to brackets (1,2) with seam sealant.
14 Paint repair area in vehicle color with brush or spray can.
15 Apply underfloor protection in area of bracket (1,2).

Use only paint and paint system approved by Daimler AG.

16 Spray cavity preservation on frame longitudinal member and crossmember at height of brackets (1,2) from inside.

In order to avoid corrosion forming, spray frame longitudinal and crossmember liberally so that the loose drill shavings are enclosed by wax.
