Connecting Rod Bearing: Service and Repair
AR03.10-D-6111-08SF Mount Connecting Rod Bearing
1 Clean the bearing points of conrod, conrod bearing caps and conrod bearing journals with a chamois leather.
Never use hard objects for cleaning to prevent damage.
2 Blow out oil galleries with compressed air in direction of oil flow.
3 Install conrod bearing cap with conrod bearing shells.
4 Lubricate thread and bolt head contact surface of conrod bolts with engine oil.
5 Tighten connecting rod bolt.
The connecting rod bolts must be replaced after removal. Otherwise engine damage can occur. The conrods are supplied with assembly screws, which must be replaced by conrods with assembly clamps to prevent loosening. Tighten connecting rod bolt in stages with the prescribed tightening torque. Observe tightening instructions.
