AS00.00-Z-0028-01A Risk of Injury to Hands or Eyes When Working on Hydraulic Pressure Reservoir Systems Caused By Hydraulic
AS00.00-Z-0028-01A Risk Of Injury To Hands Or Eyes When Working On Hydraulic Pressure Reservoir Systems Caused By Hydraulic Fluid To Specification 345.0 Spraying Out Under Pressure
DANGER: Depressurize hydraulic pressure reservoir system before commencing work on system. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.
Potential risks
Risk of injury
Detaching hydraulic pressure reservoirs and hydraulic lines without previously depressurizing the system may result in hydraulic fluid escaping under high pressure, possibly causing injuries to skin or eyes.
Safety precautions/instructions
- Pressure reservoir systems containing hydraulic fluid to specification 345.0 must be depressurized prior to maintenance.
- Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.
- Place hydraulic fluid to specification 345.0 only in containers specially designed for this fluid.
First aid measures
- In case of inhalation: Provide plenty of fresh air, consult physician if complaints arise.
- In case of skin contact: Generally, hydraulic fluid to specification 345.0 is not a skin irritant, consult physician if complaints arise.
- In case hydraulic fluid to specification 345.0 gets in the eyes: Flush eyes with running water and with lids open for several minutes.
- In case of ingestion: Consult a physician if symptoms persist.
- If hydraulic fluid spray injures skin or eyes, consult a physician.
