Replace A-Pillar Trim

Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter vehicles, has determined that due to documentation error the A-Pillar Trim installed in the vehicle may not be the correct one required for compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 201 (Head Impact Protection). Dealers will replace the A-Pillar Trim to insure compliance with FMVSS 201.

Prior to performing this Recall Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Recall Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 2 vehicles are involved.

Procedure





1. Remove A-pillar trim (1, Figure 1) from A-pillar.

2. Install new A-pillar trim (1, Figure 1) in reverse order.
