The parameterizable special module (PSM) may only be retrofitted on vehicles with code ED8 (preinstallation for parameterizable special module (PSM)), as on vehicles without the corresponding preinstallation, system failures can occur in the vehicle due to electromagnetic interference pulses in the CAN line and in addition an adequate power supply to the PSM cannot be ensured.
