GF82.61-D-0003H Audio 50 APS, Function

GF82.61-D-0003H Audio 50 APS, Function

- with CODE (EN8) Sound 50 APS radio

The radio/radio with navigation (N87/1) is the central operating unit for the entertainment and communication systems integrated in the vehicle within the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The radio/radio with navigation has an integrated screen to display information such as function key assignment, functions status, and operating menus. The following functions can be operated:
- Radio tuner
- Integrated CD disk drive
- Audio amplifier
- CD changer (A2/6) (with code (EP5) CD changer)
- Telephone (with code (EH3) Universal preinstallation for networked portable CTEL)
- Navigation

The radio/radio with navigation can be operated by two main control fields that are located on the left and right next to the display, a rotary pushbutton, a cross-shaped rocker button, and 5 buttons below the display. Some functions can be activated using the right multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and left multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) of the multifunction steering wheel. Please note that all buttons pressed on the multifunction steering wheel are initially processed by the instrument cluster (A1).The instrument cluster links the incoming button operations with the current menu setting on the multifunction display and transmits a corresponding message via the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B) to the radio/radio with navigation if necessary.

The following conditions must be met for startup:
- Circuit 15R ON
- Battery voltage is 12 V
- System check carried out without faults

System activation
If the ON button on the rotary pushbutton is pressed the radio/radio with navigation switches on. The volume for the set audio source is regulated at the rotary switch. The function keys switch over to the audio source desired by the user. Settings made during navigation voice output apply as the default setting for the subsequent navigation voice outputs.

The radio/radio with navigation is operated via:
- Alphanumeric key block
- Programmable function keys
- The eject button for the CD drive
- Rotary pushbutton
- Cross-shaped rocker button with confirm button
- On button
- Mute button
- Display
- The control buttons on the MFL

Interfaces
The digital components of the radio/radio with navigation are linked to each other by a databus system. The databus system is used to transmit data (control commands and useful information) between the various system components. The individual component operate with various data formats and they have different request in terms of transmission rate and reliability. Therefore, the following different databus systems are installed:
- CAN-B
- MOST

The following components are actuated by the radio/radio with navigation:
- CD changer (with code (EP5) CD changer)
Data exchange via MOST.

- Telephone control unit (A34/14) (with code (EH3) Universal preinstallation for networked portable CTEL)
Data exchange via MOST.

- Instrument cluster
Data exchange via CAN-B.

- External analog audio sources
Data exchange via a discrete line.

Read out errors with the aid of STAR DIAGNOSIS
The radio/radio with navigation has its own fault memory. When querying the fault memory with the aid of STAR DIAGNOSIS, the data is transmitted via MOST to the radio/radio with navigation as an interface between MOST and CAN-B. The diagnostic data is forwarded via the CAN-B to the EZS control unit (N73), where it is collected and can be read out via the diagnostic socket (16-pin) (X11).

The following settings can be selected directly:
- Frequency bands
- Volume increase for incoming traffic messages
- Speed-dependent volume control (SDV)
- Switch-off time when circuit 15 is ON
