GF80.50-D-6000HV Interior Protection Sensor, Component Description

GF80.50-D-6000HV Interior Protection Sensor, Component Description

- with CODE (FZ4) Anti-theft alarm system with interior protection and towing sensor front

- with CODE (FY1) ATA 2 with interior protection, towing sensor and battery-operated horn front

Shown with code (D27) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof or with code (D24) Passenger compartment power tilting/ sliding roof
B44 Front interior protection sensor
N70 DBE control unit

Location
The front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor is integrated into the OCP control unit which is located in the center of the roof area of the driver compartment on the headliner.

Task
The front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor monitors the driver compartment and the inclination status of the vehicle and converts every change into a signal.
In addition, the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor supplies the following buttons and sensors with power and reads in their signal:
- Integrated inclination sensor
- Center interior protection sensor (B44/1), on model 906.6/7
- Rear interior protection sensor (B44/2), on model 906.6/7
- Interior protection switch (B44s1)
- Towing sensor button (B44s2)

The front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor senses all systems, synchronizes the signals of the center interior protection sensor signals and the rear interior protection sensor and relays the signals evaluated to the OCP control unit.
The interior protection system (IS) can be activated or deactivated via the interior protection switch integrated into the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor and via the integrated towing sensor button it is possible to activate or deactivate the towing sensor (TS).
Since the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor monitors all activities in the interior compartment, it is necessary to reduce the strength of the interior protection (IR) if certain statuses are present. The following statuses are sensed when the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is activated and lead to reduction of the strength of the IRS:
- Open window
- Open tilting/sliding roof (SR), with code (D27) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof
- Open rear sliding roof unit (SR-R), on model 906.6/7, with code (D24) Passenger compartment power tilting/sliding roof
- Operation of stationary heater (STH), with code (H12) Auxiliary heater (warm water) or with code (HZ5) 10 kW warm water auxiliary heater with timer
- Operation of heater booster, with code (H11) Warm air auxiliary heater
- Operation of heater boosters (ZUH), with code (HZ9) Heater booster, diesel or with code (HZ5) 10 kW warm water auxiliary heater with timer
- Residual engine heat utilization system operation (REST), with code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning, (Tempmatic)
- Activated blower motor (M2)

The statuses listed are transmitted to the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor by the OCP control unit, which determines the statuses by itself or reads in the controller area network, class B (interior compartment) (CAN B).
With "Convenience closing" function, with code (FZ8) Convenience opening/closing with IR remote control, the following statuses can still change:
- Open window
- Closed afterwards

- Open SR, with code (D27) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof
- Closed afterwards

- Open SR-R on model 906.6/7 with code (D24) Passenger compartment power tilting/sliding roof
- Closed afterwards

The inclination sensor is integrated in the front interior protection sensor which recognizes when the vehicle is raised.

Front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor, function
When the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor is activated, it outputs ultrasonic pulses. They are reflected by the interior compartment. The reflections are registered by the front interior protection sensor receiver with integrated inclination sensor, evaluated by the microcontroller and relayed to the OCP control unit together with the sensed and synchronized signals from the center interior protection sensor and rear interior protection sensor. The reflection pattern changes when objects in the interior are moved. In this manner, the front interior protection sensor with integrated inclination sensor recognizes motions in the vehicle.

Inclination sensor, function
The inclination sensor is integrated into the front interior protection sensor, which recognizes when the vehicle is raised ±0.8° and signals this via the front interior protection sensor to the OCP control unit. The inclination sensor contains electrodes in an electrolyte (electrically conductive fluid). The electrodes in the ATA inclination sensor are immersed partially in an electrolyte (electrically conductive fluid). The sensor recognizes a change in the inclination of the vehicle by a change in the conductive value between the electrodes. When parking the vehicle, the value for the vehicle position is stored; i.e. the zero level of the vehicle is determined.
