Volume setting
Changing the volume of an audio source has an identical effect on all other audio sources. The volume is also jointly regulated within the service sources in the same manner. The volume of voice output for navigation can be changed during voice output. An adjustable interval (in menu "Settings") between the audio signal volume and the voice output volume is maintained automatically. This means that voice output remains audible even in the case of loud audio output.
Tone setting
The radio/radio with navigation (N87/1) makes it possible to manually adjust the tone (treble, bass) for each audio source. The tone setting selected for the radio mode simultaneously applies to the traffic radio announcement.
Settings selected for the voice output during navigation also have an effect on the hands-free mode during telephone operation (with code (EH3) Universal preinstallation for networked portable CTEL).
In addition, the following 3 preset tone settings can be called up:
- pop
- classical
- Language
With a change in sound emphasis (balance, fader) the ratio of the volume of the individual speakers changes. The signal processing required for the volume and tone settings is performed via the audio gateway integrated in the radio/radio with navigation.
Speed-dependent volume control (SDV)
The volume is adapted to the noise level in the passenger compartment by GAL and the automatic vehicle interior noise adaptation feature DRO. In this case, the speed signal is used as the reference value.
