Processing method:
- Metallic finishes: WBL 1 ESTA, WBL 2 pneumatic
- Standard finishes: WBL ESTA
- Clearcoat: ESTA

Intermediate drying:
- Metallic finishes: 3 min at object temperature of 60 degrees C
- Standard finishes: 3 min at object temperature of 60 degrees C

Coat thickness: (magnetic-inductive measuring procedure)

- Metallic finishes: 13 m (-2/+5 m)

- Standard
finishes: MB9040 Black: 13 micro m (-2/+5 micro m)
MB9960 Alabaster white: 20 micro m (-2/+5 micro m)
MB9650 Calcite white: 19 micro m (-2/+5 micro m)
MB3590 Flame opal: 18 micro m (-2/+5 micro m)
MB1623 Light ivory: 18 micro m (-2/+5 micro m)

- Clearcoat: horizontal: 40 micro m (-5/+15 micro m)

Stoving conditions:
Clearcoat: 22 min at 140 degrees C

Function:
- Metallic/standard finish:
The base coats represent the color-providing components of the paint system.

With a metallic finish, effect materials are used as well as the color pigments. Only the water is flashed off during WBL intermediate drying. Cross-linking with the clearcoat does not occur until after all coats have dried.

- Clear varnish:
This final coat is the protective component of the paintwork structure and therefore has excellent technical-mechanical and chemical-resistant properties and is extremely scratch-resistant and weather-resistant.

A scratch-resistant 2-component clearcoat is used at MB-USA.
