Component Identification:

Location
The AIRmatic compressor unit is located on the bracket behind the right bumper.

Task
The AIRmatic compressor unit is used to generate the air pressure required to raise the vehicle. The compressor unit is responsible for both raising and lowering the vehicle.

Function
Actuation of the supercharged engine is not performed directly via the AIRmatic with ADS control unit (N51), but rather the load current is switched via the air suspension compressor relay (F58kG).

Furthermore, deflating valve is integrated into the AIRmatic compressor unit, and it is used to lower the vehicle level.

If in the event of a fault the pressure in the AIRmatic compressor unit should be too high, then this is automatically reduced by means of an integrated, mechanical pressure relief valve.
