GF82.61-P-0003RTE Audio 50 APS, Function
- with CODE (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio
Component Identification:
The radio and navigation unit is a central control and display unit for all the entertainment and communication systems integrated into the vehicle. It can also be controlled with the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).
Component Identification:
The radio and navigation unit is installed in the center console.
The following system components integral in the unit are controlled by the radio and navigation unit:
^ Radio dual tuner
^ Arrow navigation (CD drive)
^ Basic audio amplifier
^ CD audio
The following external components are controlled:
^ Amplifier for sound system (N40/3) (code (810) Sound system)
^ CD changer (A2/6) (code (819) 6-disk CD changer)
^ Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1) (code (388) Telephone "Handy", UPCI system)
^ Voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3) (code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS]))
^ External analog audio sources, which can be connected to the radio and navigation unit via the AUX jack in the glove box.

Function requirements:
When circuit 15R is active, the functions of the radio and navigation unit are available.
If circuit 15R has not been activated, then the MOST subscribers are rendered active when the radio and navigation unit is switched on. In this case, control using the multifunction steering wheel is not possible.
Radio reception
2 radio tuners that can be controlled via the controller unit are integrated in the radio and navigation unit.
Operation via the interface is generated by the radio and navigation unit and displayed on the screen.
The audio signals are amplified by the radio and navigation unit and then output via the vehicle speakers.
With code (810) Sound system, the audio signals are routed to the amplifier for sound system, amplified there, and output over the vehicle speakers.
Playing audio CDs
The single slot CD drive above the display of the radio and navigation unit and the CD changer code (819) 6-disk CD ( changer) can play CD audio media (in Red Book audio format) and data CDs with MP3 files (a max. of 99 tracks). Both disk drives process text information that is stored on a CD. Located below the display is the button for ejecting the CD ("Disc Eject").
Audio signal control
The radio and navigation unit manages the audio sources, such as CD changer and amplifier for sound system. These audio sources can be controlled via MOST.
An external analog audio source can be connected to the radio and navigation unit via the AUX jack in the glove box. Data exchange via a discrete line.
Making phone calls
The cell phone (A34/6) is inserted into the UPCI [UHI] (Universal Portable CTEL Interface) cell phone holder (A34/15) and is thereby connected to the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit. The telephone function is included in the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit. It is operated via the radio and navigation unit. The Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit is connected to the radio and navigation unit via MOST.
Navigation
The radio and navigation unit comprises a navigation module and takes over the entire input management of the navigation. The display is by means of a pictogram.
For vehicles with code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS]), the functions are described in the voice control system (VCS [SBS]) function.
