GF82.10-P-3004GX High Beam Control, Function
GF82.10-P-3004GX High Beam Control, Function
- with CODE (615) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated curve illumination
Component Identification:
High-beams actuation
The high beams actuation is comprised of the following subfunctions:
^ High beam
^ Headlight flasher
High beam
Function requirement
^ Circuit 15 On
^ Low beam ON
Function sequence for high beams
Pressing the combination switch forward requests the high beams. The steering column module acquires the switch position of the combination switch and transmits "High beams On" to the central gateway control unit via CAN-C.
This then sends over CAN-B the "High beams On" message to the front SAM control unit and the instrument cluster.
The front SAM control unit actuates the following components:
^ Left high beam and right high beam (both halogen)
^ Left high beam solenoid and right high beam solenoid
Due to the actuation of the left high beam solenoid and right high beam solenoid the covers, which mask off the lower part of the light beam with low beam, are moved away downwards. This in turn means that the full beam has recourse to the entire light beam. The instrument cluster actuates the blue high beam indicator lamp and thus visually indicates that the high beam is switched on.
Headlamp flasher
Function requirements:
^ C. 15R On
Headlamp flasher function sequence
Pulling the combination switch back switches on the headlamp flasher.
The headlamp flasher remains activated as long as the combination switch is held in the pulled position.
The steering column module acquires the switch position of the combination switch and transmits "High beams On" to the central gateway control unit via CAN-C. This then sends over CAN-B the "High beams On" message to the front SAM control unit and the instrument cluster.
When the low beams are on, the front SAM control unit actuates the following components:
^ Left high beam and right high beam (both halogen)
^ Left high beam solenoid and right high beam solenoid
When the low beams are off, the front SAM control unit actuates the following components:
^ Left high beam and right high beam (both halogen)
When the low beams are off, only the halogen high beams are actuated for the headlamp flasher function, as it takes too long to ignite the xenon burners and for full brightness to be achieved.
