GF32.31-P-5105RTH Level Sensor, Component Description

GF32.31-P-5105RTH Level sensor, component description
- except CODE (489) Airmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS)
- up to model year 08

Component Identification:

Location
The left rear level sensor and right rear level sensor are located on the left and right of the lower transverse control arm and rear axle.

Task
The level sensors serve to determine the current vehicle level and pass on this information to the rear axle level control system control unit (N97).

Design
The level sensor consists of 2 Hall sensors in a housing and a connecting linkage.

Function
The level sensor measures the movement of the lower transverse control arm via a connecting linkage and thus records the vehicle level.

The rear axle level control system control unit supplies the level sensor with a rated voltage of 5 V. From this the level sensor provides two opposite variable voltage signals depending on the current level in which the vehicle is situated.

If the vehicle level changes, the voltage signal increases in a linear manner whilst the voltage of the opposed signal decreases in a linear manner.
