GF40.15-P-0001-04RTU Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM), Messages Relevant to the Function
GF40.15-P-0001-04RTU Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM), Messages Relevant to the Function
Messages relevant to function in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) inform the driver of the system status.
System faults are stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88) with a fault code and system messages with an event code.
Note: System messages describe a regular operating condition. In the event of complaint there is no reason to exchange system components.
Message relevant to function are divided into:
- System faults and components.
- system messages.
The following messages relevant to the function can occur:
System fault(s)
This message appears for:
- Faults in the CAN data bus;
- Failure of a system component;
- The instrument cluster does not receive any CAN messages from TPM [RDK] control unit (e.g. cable discontinuity or disconnected connector with circuit 15 "ON").
Note: A corresponding fault code is stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit.
System message
This system message appears after manual reactivation.
Note: The driver has selected reactivation via the operating menu in the instrument cluster.
Note: Activation is possible with circuit 15 "ON" or when the engine is running.
System message
This system message is activated for the following criteria:
- An external interference transmitter hinders data transfer.
- Overvoltage, undervoltage
Note: The system message is displayed for a temporary fault in the tire pressure monitoring system. No repairs are necessary.
Information message
The transmitter key (A8/1) is in the position circuit 15 "ON".
The tire pressure monitoring system (TPM) is only functional with the engine running and after driving for approx. 10 min.
Information message
Less than four wheel electronics units are available:
- Tire pressure monitoring system is only receiving signals from 1 to 3 wheel electronics units.
Possible causes are:
- The spare tire is installed without wheel electronics unit.
- Wheel electronics unit is defective.
- Battery of corresponding wheel sensor is empty.
- Overtemperature
