Removing And Installing Ignition Switch Control Cable

1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove center console
3 Remove cover below instrument panel (left)
4 Press locking tabs (1a) together and detach ignition switch control cable (1) from ignition/starter switch (S2/1)

NOTE: Installation: move ignition switch to position "0".

Function test:
- It must only be possible to move the selector lever out of position "P" when the ignition switch is in position "2" and the brake pedal is depressed.
- It must only be possible to withdraw the ignition key when the selector lever is in position "P".

5 Release ignition switch control cable (1) at electronic selector lever control module (N15/5).

NOTE: Press locking tab (1b), twist coupling (1c) through 90 degrees in direction of arrow and pull off ignition switch control cable (1).

6 Remove ignition switch control cable (1) from instrument panel.

NOTE: Unclip ignition switch control cable (1) from clip (2).

7 Install in the reverse order.
