GF91.60-P-4006-02C Belt Tensioner Control Module With Airbag - Task
Under normal service conditions the restraint systems control module (N2/7) performs the following tasks:
- Self-test with terminal 15R "ON" and constant system monitoring during vehicle operation
- Updates fault memory
- Activates airbag indicator and warning lamp (A1e15) in the instrument cluster when an error is detected
- Activates Airbag OFF malfunction indicator lamp (A1e56) upon detection of a child seat
- Activates time function element (5 s.) for the seat belt warning light (A1e9) in the instrument cluster (A1) at circuit 15 "ON"
- Prevention of false deployments in normal vehicle operation through additional safety sensor
- Measurement of current vehicle acceleration in the longitudinal and transverse directions
- Maintains energy reserves for ignition of 5 initiators where the supply voltage breakdown over a period of 150 ms
The restraint systems control module (N2/7) in the event of a crash assumes the following tasks:
- Recognition and evaluation of the collision according to type, severity and direction.
- Compiles up to three event data records
- Switching off engine using the respective engine control unit and initiation of emergency opening through the All-activity module (AAM) (N10) by means of a separate (analog) crash line
- Recognition of switching states of following belt buckles:
Left front seat belt buckle/belt lock switch (S68/7),
right front seat belt buckle/belt lock switch (S68/8),
left rear seat belt buckle/belt lock switch (S68/11) and
right rear seat belt buckle/belt lock switch (S68/12)
- Triggering of driver ETR initiator (R12/1) and the front passenger ETR initiator (R12/2)
- Triggering of left rear ETR initiator (R12/6) and the right rear ETR initiator (R12/7)
- up to 31.08.00: triggering of driver airbag initiator (R12/3) and the front passenger airbag 1 initiator (R12/4)
- as of 1.09.00: triggering of driver airbag 1 initiator (R12/13), the driver airbag 2 initiator (R12/14), the front passenger airbag 1 initiator (R12/4) and the front passenger airbag 2 initiator (R12/5)
- Triggering of left side airbag initiator (R12/9) and the right side airbag initiator (R12/10)
- Triggering of left rear side airbag initiator (R12/11) and the right rear side airbag initiator (R12/12)
(for code 293 left and right rear side airbag)
as of 1.09.01:
- Triggering of left rear window airbag initiator (R12/22) and right rear window airbag initiator (R12/23)
Read in by
- Left side airbag and window airbag sensor (A53/1 ) and
- right side airbag and window airbag sensor (A54/1)
