GF82.60-P-2003GH Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function
GF82.60-P-2003GH Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function
- with CODE (352a) COMAND operating and display system
- except CODE (491) U.S. version
- except CODE (498) Japanese version
A differentiation is to be made for the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) between audio and service sources:
- Audio sources are, e.g.:
- radio
- CD player
- CD changer (code 819a)
- Service sources include:
- Traffic information radio channel message (except (USA))
- CTEL and voice control system (optional)
- voice command for navigation
- (USA) Starguide (information on stock exchange etc.)
Volume setting
Changing the volume of an audio source has an identical effect on all other audio sources.
The volume is also jointly regulated within the service sources in the same manner. The volume of the voice output for the navigation can be changed during a voice command . In this case, a distance - which can be set in the "Settings" menu - between the volume of the audio signal and voice output is automatically adhered to. This means that the voice command remains easily audible even when audio volume is loud.
Sound setting
The COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) enables various sound settings (e.g. treble/bass, balance, speaker balance) to be made for each audio source. The sound setting selected for the radio is also used for traffic messages, and for voice commands during navigation. Permanently stored sound settings can also be called up.
Callable sound settings:
- pop
- classic
- voice
- balance
When the tonal focal point is changed (balance, fader) , the relationship between the volume of the other loudspeakers also changes.
The signal processing required for the volume and tone settings is undertaken by the audio components integrated in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
If the vehicle is additionally equipped with a sound system (code 810), the sound amplifier (A2/13) ensures terminal audio signal amplification.
With sound-system code 810 the following sound optimizations are available:
- Standard
- Ambient small
- Ambient medium
- Ambient large
- Language
- Driver optimized
- Balance
