- When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, inspect the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) indication, HOLD indicator light flashing, and TCM memory for Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to the following flowchart.
- If a DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC.
- If a DTC does not exist, MIL does not illuminate, and HOLD indicator light flashes, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting.
