Pinpoint Test L: An Individual Button/Feature Is Inoperative From The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter
Normal Operation
The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter in the Intelligent Access (IA) key sends a radio signal to the Remote Functions Receiver (RFR) module based on the user selected RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) transmitter button. The RFR (Remote Functions Receiver) module then communicates the command to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module, and the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module carries out the selected action.
Upon a request to lock/unlock the doors or release the luggage compartment lid, the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module controls the door lock actuators or the luggage compartment lid latch. Upon a panic alarm request, the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module sends a message to the Smart Junction Box (SJB) over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) to activate the turn signals and horn.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Door locks
- Horn system
- Luggage compartment lid latch release
- Turn signal system
- IA (Intelligent Access) key
