Axle Shaft Assembly: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Do not install new constant velocity (CV) joints unless inspection reveals wear/damage.

NOTE: Inspect for indentations (dimples) in the boot convolutions.

^ Inspect the boots for cracks, tears and splits.
^ Inspect the vehicle underbody for grease splatter near the outboard and inboard boots. This is an indication of boot/clamp damage.
