SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM (for 2WD): INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
* A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.

1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Insert the bolt from the front of the vehicle. Then temporarily install the front No. 2 suspension lower arm LH with the nut.

HINT
Tighten the nut after the vehicle is stabilized.

(b) Temporarily install the front No. 2 suspension lower arm LH to the steering knuckle with the nut.

HINT
Tighten the nut after the vehicle is stabilized.

(c) Install the bottom side of the pneumatic front LH with shock absorber cylinder assembly to the No. 2 suspension lower arm LH. Then insert the bolt from the rear of the vehicle and temporarily install it with the nut.

HINT
Tighten the bolt after the vehicle is stabilized.

2. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the front stabilizer link with the 2 nuts.

Torque : 84 Nm (857 kgf-cm, 62 ft-lbf)

HINT
If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud.

3. CONNECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the bracket of the front height control sensor LH to the front No. 2 suspension lower arm LH with the bolt.

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Insert the bolt from the back of the vehicle. Temporarily install the front No. 1 suspension lower arm LH with the nut.

HINT
Tighten the nut after the vehicle is stabilized.

(b) Temporarily install the front No. 1 suspension lower arm LH to the steering knuckle with the nut.

HINT
Tighten the nut after the vehicle is stabilized.

5. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE DUST COVER LH Installation

6. INSTALL FRONT DISC Installation

7. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH Installation

8. CONNECT SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR Installation

9. INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY Installation

10. TIGHTEN FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

11. TIGHTEN FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

12. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH Installation

13. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH Installation

14. CONNECT STEERING SLIDING YOKE WITH SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

16. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Installation

17. STABILIZE SUSPENSION (w/o Air Suspension) Installation

18. STABILIZE SUSPENSION (w/ Air Suspension) Installation

19. TIGHTEN FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Tighten the installation nut of the front No. 2 suspension lower arm assembly LH.

Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf)

(b) Tighten the installation nut of the steering knuckle.

Torque : 108 Nm (1101 kgf-cm, 80 ft-lbf)

20. TIGHTEN FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Tighten the installation nut of the front No. 1 suspension upper arm assembly LH.

Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf)

(b) Tighten the installation nut of the steering knuckle side.

Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
If it is necessary to align the holes for the clips after installing the nuts, the nuts can be tightened up to 60° more.

(c) Install a new clip.

21. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS

22. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER Installation

23. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER Installation

24. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Service and Repair

25. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

26. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT

(a) Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment Front Wheel Alignment.

27. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT Installation

28. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform the initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.

29. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING ADJUSTMENT Adjustments

30. PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING (Using a screen) Adjustments
