DESCRIPTION
w/ Multi-display:
The No. 1 meter ECU detects the state of the front seat inner belt RH when the front passenger seat is occupied with the engine switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the display and navigation module display blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.
w/o Multi-display:
The No. 1 meter ECU detects the state of the front seat inner belt RH when the front passenger seat is occupied with the engine switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the integration control and panel blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Check for DTCs.
Result:
B -- Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Diagnosis System
C -- Go to AIRBAG SYSTEM Airbag System
D -- Go to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM Occupant Classification System
A -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FUSE (P-IG1-1)
(a) Remove the P-IG1-1 fuse from the passenger side junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select "Active Test" Seat Belt Warning System.
Combination Meter:
HINT
*: Confirm that the vehicle is stopped with the engine idling.
Result:
B -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - NO.1 METER ECU)
C -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL - NO. 1 METER ECU)
(a) Disconnect the L35 panel connector.
(b) Disconnect the L10 ECU connector
(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
Standard voltage
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the integration control and panel Removal.
(b) Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 3 (IG), and the negative (-) battery lead to terminals 21 (PBEW) and 10 (GND1).
(c) Check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light comes on.
OK:
Front passenger side seat belt warning light comes on.
NG -- REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- REPLACE NO. 1 METER ECU Removal
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - NO.1 METER ECU)
(a) Disconnect the L59 and L117 display connectors.
(b) Disconnect the L10 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY
(a) w/o Navigation System:
(1) Remove the display and navigation module display Removal.
(b) w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
(1) Remove the display and navigation module display Removal.
(c) w/ Navigation System (for DVD):
(1) Remove the display and navigation module display Removal.
(d) Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal 3 (IG) and the negative (-) lead to terminals 5 (PBEW) and 10 (GND1).
(e) Check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light comes on.
OK:
Front passenger side seat belt warning light comes on.

B -- REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY (w/o Navigation System) Removal
C -- REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY (w/ Navigation System [for HDD]) Removal
D -- REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY (w/ Navigation System [for DVD]) Removal
A -- REPLACE NO. 1 METER ECU Removal
8. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Temporarily replace the front seat inner belt RH with a new one Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT
(a) Check the front passenger side seat belt warning light function Operation Check.
OK:
Front passenger side seat belt warning light operates normally.
NG -- REPLACE NO. 1 METER ECU Removal
OK -- END (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT RH IS DEFECTIVE)
