BRAKE: REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE: REMOVAL
HINT
* Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Removal
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:
* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
4. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Wash brake fluid off immediately if it is spilled on any painted surface.
5. REMOVE REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE
(a) Remove the brake tube with a union nut wrench while holding the flexible hose with a wrench.
NOTICE:
* Do not bend or damage the brake tube.
* Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake tube from the connecting points.
(b) Remove the clip.
(c) Remove the union bolt, flexible hose and gasket.
