DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU receives switch signals from the master switch and driver side door key cylinder switch signals from the front door ECU LH, and activates the door lock motor on each door according to these signals.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DOOR LOCK OPERATION

2. CHECK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)

(a) Replace the master switch with a normal one Components.

(b) Check that all doors can be locked and unlocked by using the master switch.

OK:

All doors can be locked and unlocked with master switch.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END (MASTER SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE)

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR KEY LINKED LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH)

(a) Use the Data List to check if the door key linked lock and unlock switch are functioning properly.

Driver Door (Front door ECU LH)





OK:

On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG -- INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (DOOR KEY LINKED LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK FRONT DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION)

(a) Replace the front door ECU LH with a normal one Components.

(b) Check that all doors can be locked and unlocked by using the driver side door key cylinder.

OK:

All doors can be locked and unlocked with driver side door key cylinder.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END (MASTER SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE)

5. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (DOOR KEY LINKED LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH)





(a) w/o Door Closer:

(1) Remove the front door lock LH Removal.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:









(b) w/ Door Closer:

(1) Remove the front door lock LH Removal.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH Components
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR ECU LH - FRONT DOOR LOCK LH)





(a) Disconnect the N9 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the N15 door lock connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK FRONT DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION)

(a) Replace the front door ECU LH with a normal one Components.

(b) Check that all doors can be locked and unlocked by using the driver side door key cylinder.

OK:

All doors can be locked and unlocked with driver side door key cylinder.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU

OK -- END (FRONT DOOR ECU LH IS DEFECTIVE)
