DESCRIPTION

When the wireless operation can be used to lock and unlock the doors, the communication line between the door control receiver and certification ECU is normal. When the entry operation does not operate, one of the following may be the cause: 1) entry cancel function is set through customization; 2) malfunction in smart access system communication line (electrical key transmitter and vehicle); or 3) wave interference.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

2. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT

(a) Move the electrical key transmitter as described below and perform the operation inspection.

HINT
* When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the door outside handle or electrical key antenna, the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom.
* The transmitting wave of the wireless function and entry function are the same, but the wave logic is different. As a result, it is possible that only the wireless function or only the entry function is affected by wave interference.

(b) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the driver door outside handle, and perform a driver door entry lock and unlock operation check.





NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the door handle, communication is not possible.

(c) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the front passenger door outside handle, and perform a front passenger door entry lock and unlock operation check.





NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the door handle, communication is not possible.

(d) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the rear left door outside handle, and perform a rear left door entry lock and unlock operation check.





NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the door handle, communication is not possible.

(e) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the rear right door outside handle, and perform a rear right door entry lock and unlock operation check.





NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the door handle, communication is not possible.

(f) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (in center console), and perform an engine start check.

NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the center console, communication is not possible.

(g) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (in rear seat cushion), and perform an engine start check.

NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the rear seat cushion, communication is not possible.

(h) Bring the electrical key transmitter near the electrical key antenna (in rear bumper), and perform an entry luggage compartment open function check.





NOTICE:
If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.) of the rear bumper, communication is not possible.

HINT
If the inspection result is that the problem only occurs in certain locations or times of day, the possibility of wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check.

3. KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE

(a) Diagnostic mode inspection (driver door outside oscillator)





(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Driver Side.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is in the position shown in the illustration, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

(b) Diagnostic mode inspection (front passenger door outside oscillator)





(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Passenger Side.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is in the position shown in the illustration, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

(c) Diagnostic mode inspection (rear door LH outside oscillator)





(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Driver Side Rear.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is in the position shown in the illustration, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

(d) Diagnostic mode inspection (rear door RH outside oscillator)





(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Passenger Side Rear.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is in the position shown in the illustration, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

(e) Diagnostic mode inspection (front inside oscillator)





(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Front Room.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is in the position shown in the illustration, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

(f) Diagnostic mode inspection (rear inside oscillator)





(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Rear Room.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is in the position shown in the illustration, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

(g) Diagnostic mode inspection (luggage compartment antenna)





(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(3) Turn the Techstream on.

(4) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Luggage.

(5) When the electrical key transmitter is in the position shown in the illustration, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

4. REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY TRANSMITTER

(a) Replace the electrical key transmitter with a new one and perform the registration procedure Engine Immobilizer System.

5. CHECK OPERATION

(a) Check the operation of the entry lock function.

Operates normally

NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
