DESCRIPTION
The luggage compartment door closer is controlled by the luggage room junction block (rear junction block ECU). The closer motor is activated according to the switch signals in the luggage compartment door closer assembly.

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage compartment door closer.

D -- INSPECT FUSE (FUEL OPN)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER
(a) Remove the luggage compartment door key cylinder Components.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER Components
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER)
(a) Disconnect the S39 cylinder connector.
(b) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
4. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH
(a) Remove the luggage compartment door opener switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S38 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER)
(a) Disconnect the S36 closer connector.
(b) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the luggage compartment door closer with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Check the luggage compartment door closer operation.
OK:
Luggage compartment door closer normal operation.
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
OK -- END (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER IS DEFECTIVE)
8. INSPECT FUSE (FUEL OPN)
(a) Remove the FUEL OPN fuse from the luggage room junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
9. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER
(a) Remove the luggage compartment door closer Removal.
(b) Set the luggage compartment door closer assembly to the half-latch position.
(c) Apply battery voltage to the closer connector and check the closer operation.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER Components
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER)
(a) Disconnect the S36 closer connector.
(b) Disconnect the LA ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
