DESCRIPTION

This circuit is from the parking brake switch to the display and navigation module display.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check that the brake warning light comes on when the parking brake is applied and goes off when it is released.

OK:

Brake warning light function is normal.

NG -- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DISPLAY CHECK MODE)

(a) Enter the "Display Check" mode and select "Vehicle Signal Check" Operation Check.





(b) Check that the display changes between ON and OFF according to the parking brake operation.

OK:





HINT
This display is updated once per second. As a result, it is normal for the display to lag behind the actual change in the switch.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Problem Symptoms Table

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY)

(a) Disconnect the L59 display and navigation module display connector.

(b) Disconnect the L12 main body ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Problem Symptoms Table
