Removal





PARK ASSIST / MONITORING: ULTRASONIC SENSOR (for Rear Side): REMOVAL

NOTICE:
When replacing the sensor, only replace the clips and sensor.

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Removal

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PLATE LH Removal

4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PLATE RH

HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER Removal

6. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE Disassembly

7. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR

(a) Remove the sensors from the 4 sensor retainers as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
* Be careful not damage the to retainer.
* Do not forcibly remove the retainer from the bumper cover.

8. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER

(a) While heating the retainer using a dryer, pull the retainer lightly and remove the double-sided tape. Then remove the retainer.





Heating temperature:

40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

CAUTION:
Be careful of burns.

(b) Using a cloth or non-residue solvent, wipe off any tape residue on the bumper cover.
