Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)





PRE-COLLISION: PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM (w/ Driver Monitor Camera): C1A40: ENG / EHV Device
C1A40 - ENG / EHV Device

DESCRIPTION

When the driving support ECU receives an engine control system or ECT system malfunction signal from the ECM, this DTC is stored.

When DTC C1A40 is stored, the engine control system or ECT system DTC will also be stored.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC (ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:

HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.

- Pre-collision system:
The engine switch is on (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.

(c) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

OK:

Engine control system DTCs are not output.

NG -- GO TO SFI SYSTEM How to Proceed with Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FOR DTC (ECT SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:

HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.

- Pre-collision system:
The engine switch is on (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.

(c) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

OK:

ECT system DTCs are not output.

NG -- GO TO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM How to Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:

HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.

- Pre-collision system:
The engine switch is on (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.

(c) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

OK:

DTC C1A40 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU

OK -- END

4. REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU

(a) Replace the driving support ECU with a new one Removal.

NOTICE:
When replacing the driving support ECU, always replace it with a new one and be sure to perform initialization Testing and Inspection. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the ECU will not match the information from the vehicle, and as a result, a DTC may be stored.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:

HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.

- Pre-collision system:
The engine switch is on (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.

(c) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

OK:

DTC C1A40 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE ECM

OK -- END

6. REPLACE ECM

(a) Replace the ECM with a new one Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:

HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.

- Pre-collision system:
The engine switch is on (IG).
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.

(c) Check for DTCs Pre-Collision System (w/ Driver Monitor Camera).

OK:

DTC C1A40 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE TCM Removal

OK -- END
