DESCRIPTION

When the driving support ECU receives an engine control (SFI) system or automatic transmission (ECT) system malfunctioning signal from the ECM via the CAN communication line, DTC C1A40 is output.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC (SFI SYSTEM)

(a) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Code.

(b) Check for DTC.

OK:

SFI system DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO SFI SYSTEM SFI System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FOR DTC (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM)

(a) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Code.

(b) Check for DTC.

OK:

Electronic controlled automatic transmission system DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM Automatic Transmission System - AA80E

OK -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU Removal
