Lane-Keeping Assist System
CRUISE CONTROL: LANE-KEEPING ASSIST SYSTEM: C1A05: Stop Light Switch Circuit
C1A05 - Stop Light Switch Circuit
DESCRIPTION
When the brake pedal is depressed, the stop light switch assembly sends a brake pedal operation signal to the driving support ECU. After reception of this signal, the driving support ECU cancels the radar cruise control system. When the driving support ECU detects a problem in the stop light switch circuit, DTC C1A05 is stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK STOP LIGHT OPERATION
(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG), depress the brake pedal and check that the stop lights illuminate.
OK:
The stop lights illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed and turn off when the brake pedal is released.
NG -- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK FUSE (STOP, ECU-IG)
(a) Remove the STOP fuse from the main body ECU.
(b) Remove the ECU-IG fuse from the engine room No. 2 junction block.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the stop light switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVING SUPPORT ECU - BATTERY)
(a) Disconnect the A33 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Make sure the following conditions are met:
HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.
- Radar cruise control system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the distance control switch is on.
- Lane keeping assist system:
The vehicle is being driven at a speed of approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) or more and the lane-keeping assist main switch is on.
- The brake pedal is depressed for 1 second or more.
(c) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC P0504 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC C1A05 is not output.
NOTICE:
When replacing the driving support ECU, always replace it with a new one and be sure to perform initialization Testing and Inspection. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the ECU will not match the information from the vehicle, and as a result, a DTC may be stored.
NG -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU Removal
OK -- END
