B2651 - Reclining Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

When the position control ECU does not receive a sensor signal despite forward or backward movement of the seat by power seat motor operation, this DTC is output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT MOTOR FUNCTION)

(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the power seat motor function.

Rear Right Seat





OK:

Motor operates normally.

NG -- INSPECT REAR SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU RH - OTTOMAN RECLINING MOTOR AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the f37 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the R58 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK REAR SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

(a) Disconnect the R58 motor connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the values in the table below.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU RH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK REAR SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR)

(a) Reconnect the R58 motor connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value in the table below.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPLACE REAR SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Rear Power Seat Control System.

(b) Recheck the DTC.

OK:

DTC B2651 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU RH Disassembly

OK -- END (SYSTEM RETURN TO NORMAL)

6. INSPECT REAR SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)

(a) Check operation of the power seat motor (reclining motor).





(1) Check if the seat reclining adjuster moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the reclining motor connector terminals.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE REAR SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU RH - OTTOMAN RECLINING MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the f4 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the R58 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU RH Disassembly
