B2414 - Steering Position Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The AFS ECU receives signals indicating the swerve-angle from the steering sensor using CAN communication.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.

PROCEDURE

1. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK DTC

(a) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2414 output does not occur.

NG -- REPLACE STEERING SENSOR

OK -- NORMAL

3. REPLACE STEERING SENSOR

(a) Temporarily replace the steering sensor with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK DTC

(a) Recheck for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2414 output does not reoccur.

NG -- REPLACE AFS ECU Removal

OK -- REPLACE STEERING SENSOR Removal
