B2405 - Sub Bus LIN Module Communication Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when LIN communication between the luggage room junction block (rear junction block ECU) and map light (overhead junction block) stops for 10 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When using the Techstream with the engine switch off to troubleshoot:

Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - MAP LIGHT)

(a) Disconnect the S62 junction block connector.





(b) Disconnect the X6 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK MAP LIGHT (BATTERY VOLTAGE AND GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the X4 light connector.





(b) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK)

(a) Temporarily replace the map light with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

(b) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Recheck for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2405 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

OK -- END (MAP LIGHT IS DEFECTIVE)
