DESCRIPTION

The electric power control ECU receives the ECM's generator control signal, compares the value with the battery current and battery voltage signals, and detects generator charging line malfunctions.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (TERMINAL B)

(a) Check the generator's tightening torque value.

Standard torque:





NG -- TIGHTEN GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (TERMINAL B)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (IG INPUT VOLTAGE)





(a) Disconnect the E24 generator connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (ELECTRIC POWER CONTROL ECU)
