B156E - No Response from Multi-media Interface ECU
DESCRIPTION
The display and navigation module display and multi-media interface ECU are connected by the AVC-LAN communication line.
When an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the display and navigation module display and multi-media interface ECU, these DTCs will be stored.
HINT
* *: Even if no fault is present, this DTC may be stored depending on the battery condition or engine start voltage.
* The display and navigation module display is the master unit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
(a) Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.
Result
HINT
* Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
* This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.
B -- CHECK FOR DTC
A -- Continue to next step.
2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
(a) Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
NOTICE:
Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Navigation System (for DVD).
(b) Check for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.
OK:
No DTCs are output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU POWER SOURCE)
OK -- END
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU POWER SOURCE)
(a) Disconnect the R65 multi-media interface ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY)
(a) Disconnect the R65 multi-media interface ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L114 display and navigation module display connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU
(a) Temporarily replace the multi-media interface ECU with a new normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Clear the DTCs Navigation System (for DVD).
(c) Check for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.
OK:
No DTCs are output.
NG -- REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY Removal
OK -- END
